Hii families! My name is Quiyara, I am a sophomore at the University of Colorado at Boulder studying Integrative Physiology, a declared study of pre-PA, and a minor in philosophy. I am currently in the process of obtaining my certification as a postpartum doula, hoping to work with mamas, infants and families in the home or hospital setting. As for my certification, I am looking for a family who is willing to allow me to assist with 12 hours of postpartum care. This will be volunteer-only. I am not asking for any pay, only the opportunity to work with you and your baby to not only gain the hours that I need for my credentials but to start building a bond with your baby. Although I am young, I know that becoming a sitter will help me grow more individually with experience and also create more bonds with parents and Read more children over time. I have years of experience in babysitting siblings and younger cousins (unprofessionally), and I two professional care experiences (able to provide references). I am also Child and Youth Mentor with Pikes Peak Respite Services and I volunteer at the Children Hospital in Aurora CO. For my future plans, I am continuing my studies at CU Boulder and plan to go to PA school and become a physician assistant in Obstetrics and Gynecology. I'm passionate about becoming an OBGYN PA because 1) my desire to help women through the most vulnerable/emotional period of their lives, 2) I believe all women of every background should be properly education on their reproductive health and sexual health and 3) seeing new life being brought into this world and being able to help parents upbring their children into great human beings brings me great joy!
