In the past I have worked with several groups of children with varying ages from 4-14 years. My experience would include: A high school leader for 6th graders at an outdoor camp. This is a trip that lasts for a week and it was an amazing experience where I was able to stay in cabins with up to 20 girls and then teach them archery and how to create hemp necklaces. A summer camp counselor at a day camp where I went on several different field trips and planned different activities for them to do throughout the day. I could have up to 15 children under my care at any given time while working here. An after school counselor at an elementary school where I also plan activities centered around a specific theme for the week. This job is similar to the summer camp counselor job I held in that Read more I could have up to 15 children under my care. In addition to this I am studying to be an art teacher at Fort Lewis College and because of this, I also work with students in art classes from the elementary to the high school level. I have loved all my jobs in the past simply because I get to work with a wide variety of children and I can connect with all of them on a personal level. I love developing relationships with the students that I work with because they are all so different and I learn so much from them. They are all so smart and they keep me educated as much as I keep them educated. They can also always bring a smile to my face whenever I go to work and I couldn't ask for a better working environment.
