Hi there! My name's Allison, and I've been taking care of kids since I was 16. Babysitting was a fun and rewarding job back then, and still is today! Kids just have so much character, and it's so fun to see that come alive and grow into mini adults in so many different ways. I've cared for kids from six months old to teenagers, and every age in between, as well as loving to hang out with all the kids running around at family functions =D. In college, I was a literacy tutor at an after-school program in the Boston Public School system, working with children of naturalized U.S. citizens whose first language was not English. As a tutor, helping them excel in classes that might be more of a struggle, plus weaving in comprehensive reading supported children's language skills. It was also part of the job to play outside Read more on the playground with them, on the jungle gym, playing Foursquare, or kickball, so being active was a blast. Additionally, I worked for many years as a Mad Science instructor, teaching science enrichments programs to kids pre-K through sixth grade. This included teaching after-school programs, birthday parties, and summer camps, all of which gave me a chance to get to know kids long-term and encourage their talents and knowledge. All in all, hanging out with kids is good for the soul, and I'm excited to hopefully have the opportunity to meet yours!
