Hi! My name is Sydney and I’m currently a junior at CSU working towards my graduate degree in occupational therapy specializing in pediatrics. I’ve been babysitting since I was 13, and I’ve always helped around the house with my younger brothers and the neighborhood kids. I’ve primarily worked with younger elementary school kiddos but I’ve babysat all ages before. This summer I worked as an assistant teacher at Goddard Preschool where I worked with young children of various ages, including some children with disabilities. I earned a lot of trainings in early childhood care through this job and have advanced education in childcare as well. I am a Human Development and Family Studies major and have taken multiple classes to educate me in how to provide excellent care to guide children on the best course of development possible. I actually just finished a class in early childhood development , psychology, Read more abnormal psychology, as well as a general health science, so feel well versed in my abilities and knowledge to keep a child happy and healthy during my time spent with them. When I am caring for a child, I love to allow them the freedom to be curious and explore their environment safely. Playtime is essential for development, so I am a huge advocate for this as long as the child is safe. I also absolutely love crafts, and getting outside when it’s nice out. I am always willing to help with homework as well. I loved being a teacher this past summer, and I was a tutor in high-school and always help my younger brothers with their homework. In my free time I like to run, crochet, cook, and spend time with friends.
