I've been taking care of children since my first job at 18. I spent the summer working with kids from the ages of 4-16, Monday - Saturday, 7am-6pm. I learned during that time that every kid creates a unique bond with their guardian, and that I could enhance that bond by being a kind friend, a stern mentor, or a gentle ear. I spent half of my 20s taking care of children in pre-and-post school daycare, as well as weekends and summer. I also began watching the children of friends and acquaintances, allowing the parents to have a valuable night out. I've dealt with every type of personality on the planet and I've developed my own unique way of dealing with them that hasn't failed to make me a friend to them yet. I watch my friend's 4 children weekly, and I've also been blessed with 2 nieces and a Read more nephew over the past few years which not only has renewed my love of working with children, but also buffed up my skills from my professional childcare days.
