As a dedicated and experienced babysitter, I have honed my childcare skills through a combination of personal and professional experiences. Growing up in a household where my mother worked as a nurse and my father served in the Air Force, I took on the responsibility of providing attentive care to children of varying ages, including my little sister who was a newborn at the time, my 2-year-old brother, and my 3-year-old brother. This allowed me to learn caring practices such as feeding which included making bottles with formula or defrosting breastmilk and/or cooking, changing diapers, bathing, and ensuring a smooth bedtime routine. In addition to my familial caregiving role, I have also gained valuable experience working in professional childcare settings. I worked as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and child care worker at Lifetime Fitness for 2 years, allowing me to interact with children ranging from 6 months old to 13 Read more years old. This role not only required me to ensure their safety but also provided me with the chance to engage them in various activities, fostering their physical and social development. In addition, for the past two years, I have had the privilege of caring for my niece, who is about to turn 2. During the weekdays, while her parents are at work, I have taken on the responsibility of looking after her. When caring for her, I prioritize engaging her in various activities that promote learning and development. From an early age, I have been teaching her sign language, which has proven to be an effective means of communication for her. Recently, I have introduced basic math concepts such as addition and teaching her how to identify colors, fostering her cognitive development. In addition to academic activities, I believe in the importance of physical activity. To this end, when the weather is appropriate we often go to the zoo, park, or even just simple neighborhood walks. Overall, she has become my best friend and the biggest influence on my caring methods.
