Hi guys!! My name is Maria Madden and I am a 2nd year at CU Denver, studying criminal justice. I attended East High School and graduated in May 2020 with a 3.7 GPA. I grew up in West Wash Park and have always lived a healthy lifestyle playing both competitive and school soccer! Additionally, I participated in East’s jazz program as an alto saxophonist, and head of our orchestra for our live musical my senior and junior year! I enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, and writing poetry! I currently live in uptown 4 blocks away from city park with my boyfriend who is a wild land fire fighter! In summer of 2020, I nannied for a family with a 20-month-old boy and a 5-year-old boy. I am now a nanny to a 1 year old baby girl 3 days a week. I occasionally sit for other families ages ranging from 3 months-13 years. I am very hands on and believe that kids learn the best through hands on learning and curiosity. You will often find myself and your kiddos learning in the home or out and about on excursions to teach them life long lessons. My past places of employment have not directly involved childcare they were still a major influence in my workplace. At the Denver Zoo, I worked in food services as a cashier and manager, through my position I made it a priority to put a smile on every child's face who walked into my door. Additionally, I work as a referee on Saturdays at Congress Park, we serve our local community and those that come from afar to create a fun, exciting, and ultimately a safe environment for every single one of our kids that step on to the field. Lastly, I have volunteered time at Steal Street Preschool. This school was founded by close family friends and I love helping out whenever I can in the summertime. I am first aid, CPR, and Child CPR certified by the Red Cross and the US Soccer Association. I hope to get the chance to mentor and hang out with your amazing kids!
