Hi! My name is Rylee, and I'm a senior at CU Boulder. I love kids, and am currently studying to become a pediatric doctor. I have a ton of experience in childcare, with a variety of focuses including 7 years at a nursery, three years as a big buddy to low income elementary school students, two years as a kindergarten teacher's assistant, three months as a tutor for middle school children from immigrant backgrounds, and three years as a camp counselor to 6-8 and 12-14 year old girls at a summer camp for kids who have a parent with cancer. I love being able to connect with kids and meet them where they're at, because I think that the most important thing when you're growing up is feeling heard and supported. In my off time, I love playing music (guitar, ukulele, and singing), running, rock climbing, playing flag football, and teaching yoga. I pride myself on being able to connect with kids that have a variety of different interests, and then making our time meaningful by doing the things that make them happy. In many of my childcare experiences, I've served in a mentor capacity to kids. This is something that I am incredibly passionate about, as I think that having healthy role models in life is so important. In every childcare experience that I have, I always do my best to model and encourage honesty, kindness, self esteem, and passion as well as doing all that I can to empower the kids to reach their best potential.
