I started babysitting when I was in middle school, so it only made sense for my first real job to be working as a child care team member at Lifetime Fitness. There, I watched children aged 3 months to 11 years old. Through Lifetime, I found myself babysitting for many families and was so lucky to work with so many different children. When I left for college, I continued to babysit children and also started nannying for a family with 3-month-old, 18-month old, and 5 year old. Years passed and I spent several years in sales, but that's now behind me. Now that I'm back in college, attending grad school for psychology at DU, I've been excited at the opportunity to work with children again. In the last few weeks, I've started volunteering at FosterSource taking care of young children and infants while their foster parents get support. It's been Read more an enriching experience that has further perpetuated my passion for working with children. My passion for children has been long-lived. From babysitting in middle school to working with children in the foster system, this passion never waivers. The only real difference between then and now is my experience in working with people, the classes I've taken related to family systems and developmental/child psychology, and raising my three large dogs (who are not children but also still require support, love, attention, and stimulated).
