Hi! My name is Karen Whitney and I'm new to the Denver metro area. I have a long history of and diverse experiences in caring for children. I was born and raised in State College, PA and my first job in high school I was a lifeguard - where I also taught group and private swim lessons. I attended college at the University of Pittsburgh and throughout college worked in before and after school care a local K-8 school. From there I started a position as a patient care technician at the women's hospital in labor and delivery for almost five years while concurrently doing psychology research in a child and adolescent sleep lab. Throughout all this time, I babysat children as young as 6mo old and as old at 14. I eventually left Pittsburgh to attend physician assistant school in Norfolk, VA at Eastern Virginia Medical School. After graduation Read more my partner and I moved to Denver, Colorado to be closer to friends, family, and the mountains. As we start our lives here, I would love to begin babysitting again. I'm a board certified physician assistant, hold active state licensure in Colorado, and have current basic and advanced care life support certifications from the American Heart Association.
