I just started working for the Durango School District as an aide with their after school program. I supervise elementary school students during recess, games and arts and crafts and also give homework help. (The school performed a background check before I was able to start work.) Before relocating to the Durango area, I was a nanny/babysitter for a family in New Jersey for about 4 and a half years. They have two girls, ages 3 and 6, and we would often go to the playground, library or just out for a walk through the neighborhood. Being a Spanish major in college, I volunteered to tutor a Spanish speaking kindergarten student to help him with his English. I have also been a volunteer tutor with an adult literacy organization. I have worked with a migrant education summer camp and a theater summer camp, playing games, sports, face painting and doing Read more arts and crafts. I grew up playing soccer and some new interests of mine are tennis and volleyball; I recently became certified as a yoga instructor, completing a 200 hour training and became certified by the American Heart Association in CPR and First Aid.
