I grew up in Upstate New York and attended a university there. After graduation, I taught 5th grade in an elementary school in New York for one year. From here, I moved to Maine and taught before arriving in Colorado where I have loved living since. After I began teaching, I also obtained my master's in education with emphasis on literacy, social studies, and history. I finished my 45 year teaching career in 2015. I keep my teaching license current, because I still substitute pre-school to high school. I have been babysitting since I was 12 and took care of my grandson during his early years. After I retired from full time teaching, people started asking me to sit for their children and suggested that I sign up for a babysitting website and that's what I did. I feel that I have a lot to offer children: academically, emotionally and Read more socially. When I babysit for families, I am very involved with what the kids like to do. I am not a "couch potato" or an observer. I love being involved and working with a variety of age groups. My experience as a teacher allows me to bring a lot of resources to the table, but most of all just to have fun.
