I graduated from Chatfield Senior High as valedictorian and spent a couple years studying business at The University of Denver. I am taking a year off to save to fund the rest of my degree. I’m currently working part time at a restaurant but still have a fair amount of time on my hands. I practically raised my little sister, Emma (she’s eight years my junior) and loved every minute of it. I spent some time babysitting in the Ken Caryl area as well as lifeguarding at the Ken Caryl Community Center/Bradford Pool (I am CPR trained and certified). In high school I also spent three years teaching children the fundamentals of playing the cello. I’ve been playing for about twelve years now. I loved sharing my passion for music with my students. At DU I had the privilege of participating in a course where we spent one day each Read more week for several months teaching small groups of second grade children downtown. That was the best course I’ve taken; I really bonded with the children and learned so much. As a sophomore I joined the child care service at DU and worked as a camp counselor. We coordinated sports, outdoor activities, swim lessons, ice skating, and team building with children ages 3-12. I enjoyed building relationships with the children; I tried to help them feel more confident and engaged. My sister is now 13, such a tumultuous age, and I’m trying to build her up, teach her assertiveness, and help her navigate middle school. I have a car and a valid license. I have plenty of experience with and love all manner of pets. I can prepare meals and help with homework. I have the most availablility in the evenings, but a few mornings/afternoons most weeks.
