Hello, my name is Jessica! I am so happy you are taking the time to read about me. I am currently in the last semester of my Master of Social Work program at MSU - Denver and taking an elective about maternal and infant mental health. My undergrad is in Human Development and Family Studies. I have experience in babysitting children from 4-10 years old. I was a nanny for a set of infant-toddler twins, I provided various sensory activities that supported their development and learning across all domains. In this role I also taught them some sign language in order to support their communication and language development. While finishing my undergraduate, I was an intern at the CSU Early Childhood Center where I worked in the older toddler classroom. Here I learned the power of play, the importance of positive language and reinforcement. I have also worked in Douglas Read more County as a special education assistant for Deaf and Hard of Hearing pre-schoolers. In this position I gained more sign language skills, had the opportunity to work with children who have developmental and learning delays, and be creative in creating curriculum that supported mental health. I am currently doing a clinical internship doing non-directive play therapy with children from 3-11 years old. Working with children and families has always been a passion of mine and I plan to make a career out of it. I have enjoyed the opportunity to work with so many children and so many families, I hope you will consider me when looking for the right person for your child(ren).
