I went to school for Medical Assisting, moved to Pueblo again in 2011. I had one semester to go for an associates of applied science in Medical Assisting only to find out when I got here there was no Medical Assisting programs or classes. I then changed my major to Nursing after s 5 year brake because I had two more daughters that are 11 months apart, to add to the 4 daughters my husband and I had that were 10 and up. I had been attending PCC since 2016 and graduated in December of 2019. Since then I have been applying to 3 nursing programs with no luck getting in. My husband however, got a full scholarship to CSUP Nursing Program, which left me as the worker and homemaker. Nursing school is very competitive and I am a hands on learner. I have extremely good English and writing skills, Read more yet I am assuming the comprehension disorder I have is ultimately what is keeping me from being accepted. My goal was to become specialized in pediatrics and work within a pediatric clinic or children's hospital. Children are so precious, funny, smart, and Loving. I wanted to be able to make a difference in their lives, and this may be where I am meant to go do that. I love caring for kids, and I can't see it as a job but an opportunity to make a difference and keep my mind young. This is ultimately the reason I want to be able to work with kids in anyway I am able. I want them to always know they are safe and loved, because they are the future and we need to support them to have a wonderful world for them to enjoy. I have 6 daughters, I have raised 5.siblings as well as I am the oldest of 6 myself, and non of my sister's were close onto my age. I have been caring for kids most of my life and cannot see me doing much of anything else other than upcycling /diy furniture projects. I have been CPR/BLS certified for infants, toddlers, and adults almost continuously for the last 21 years. I have also been driving for the last 26 years and have been in 1 accident ever that was not from my doing. I want you to know your child is safe, and I will always no matter what care for and treat them as they were my own because children's lives are precious and wonderful and they should be treated with love and kindness in all things.
