First and foremost, I have 27+ years experience as a mom of 2 amazing daughters. One is about a year away from getting her Ph.D. In mechanical engineering. My younger daughter has a M.S. In Physician Assistant Studies and has been a practicing P.A. since she was 23. I like to believe that my husband of 34+ years and myself have had an influence on their success. Once we became empty nesters, I began working for Baby Business with Naomi here in Steamboat and still take babysitting jobs from her. The majority of the jobs are for a week or less and are for tourists to Steamboat. Some of the visitors return every year and I do get repeat visitors requesting me as their babysitter. Over the years, I've babysat for hundreds of kids through Baby Business. I also have a handful of local families that I regularly babysit for. Read more For example, one family uses my services almost every Tuesday. Another family has used me for 7+ years including overnights when the parents went to Europe, etc. Another family has used me since their oldest was 5 mos. old and is currently in kindergarten. In addition to taking care of their children for date nights, etc., they have also requested for me to accompany their family on vacations. My number one concern is keeping the children I care for safe. Second, I make every attempt to follow the parents desires with respect to how they want their children cared for (e.g. food, screentime, activities, etc.) Hopefully, some fun is incorporated along the way. My reliability and competence as a caregiver has resulted in my services being in demand. On December 5, 2015, I will be renewing my certification in Pediatric First Aid and CPR.
