Hello, my name is Sara. If you are seeking childcare, tutoring services, or direct support for remote learners I might just be the person you are looking for. I’d love to take this opportunity to tell you a bit about myself and about my professional experience. Over the years I have had the amazing opportunity to provide childcare for several lovely families. In addition to that I have worked as an EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teacher abroad, a K-12 Bilingual EL (English Learner) tutor in the U.S., and a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) instructor at a local community college. I have a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and just completed a MAT ESOL. I am certified to to teach K-12 in Massachusetts and am in the process of transferring my credentials to CT. In regards to my teaching philosophy there is so much Read more that I could say. One thing that I strongly believe is that in today’s classroom, understanding how to meet diverse needs is critical. My experience working with EL students has prepared me extensively for this task. I once heard someone say, “Equal isn’t everyone getting the same thing, but rather everyone getting what they need.” Regardless of a student’s background, developmental needs, or English proficiency, I believe it is crucial to always provide the necessary differentiation and scaffolding—making for multiple avenues for success. In addition to my love for teaching, I LOVE to "play" outdoors. As a former yoga instructor and personal trainer I enjoy incorporating movement into everything I do, so you can be sure your children will stay active under my care. I also enjoy being creative and would love to help your child explore their creative side. Lastly, I am fluent in Spanish and would be happy to introduce your child to a new language. Sadly, the wonderful family that I most recently worked with is moving to Hawaii and I am in search of a new family. Hopefully your family will be the perfect match.
