Hello! My name is Sasha and I am a third-year theatre student at Southern Connecticut State University. I have many years of experience volunteering with small children, especially as a reading/writing tutor and with arts and crafts -- namely at the West Haven Library, New Haven Reads, and the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, CT, where I was a varsity docent. While most of my caregiving experience is from watching younger family members, I also have some paid experience from babysitting my professor's young children. As a sitter/caregiver and tutor, I have a compassionate, creative approach. Treating children as human beings and giving them agency is a priority, as is taking every opportunity for teaching moments. I am observant and detail-oriented and very respectful of house rules and schedules. I am naturally very tidy and am more than willing to help with housework -- I am also skilled in Read more the kitchen and can do meal-prep. As an actor, I love reading stories and playing pretend with kids, and I am good at being silly and keeping them entertained and engaged. I do not have my own car, so my transportation is limited to local bus systems and walking (or parent pickup), but I do not have a problem with long commutes around the greater New Haven area (i.e. an hour+ bus ride).
