I have worked for over 20 years in the education setting with children and young adults with varying special needs. Some had emotional and behavioral issues, learning disabilities, cognitive functioning issues and many were on the Autism Spectrum. I have also spent 5 years doing private duty work in the same field. I never considered my work as a job but as my passion and my calling. I looked forward to going to work and being with each and every student/client. I currently work full-time in Waterbury with Head Start. I worked on the weekends with an autistic girl, age 20, but due to covid her parents don't want staffing anymore. I can work Saturdays and possibly Sundays.
