I've been babysitting since I was a freshman in high school. All of my babysitting jobs were 2+ years as needed and my most recent job I had been a babysitter for a family with an infant and middle school age child. I worked for them for approximately 4 and a half years until the husband's mother moved in with them. I miss them terribly but still keep in touch. :) The only reason I ever stopped working for a family was because one of their children was old enough and no longer required a babysitter. I love to come up with creative activities to keep the children I babysit entertained and happy no matter what age the child was. I also provided homework help, drove them to sports' practices, took them to the park, did overnights, cooked, cleaned and did laundry as needed. Currently I work in retail where Read more I am a manager and have been working for the company for over 8 years. I also have a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and have gone through First Aid and CPR certification. My hours are flexible and given enough notice I can request off. For a full time babysitting or nannying position I would have open availability. I genuinely love working with kids as I'm sure everyone else states on here but I really do care about making sure the children have fun and rules set by the parents are followed. I think as a babysitter it is extremely important to treat each kid as an individual and essentially earn their respect no matter how old they are. From being the oldest of 4 kids I know an activity that would enter a 4 year old probably won't entertain an 8 year old so I make sure I am conscious of that. I've done pizza nights where I made pizza with the kids, cookie decorating, balloon decorating, tshirt decorating, and many other activities too! I am completely willing to do light housework after the kids go to bed too whether it's laundry, kitchen work or anything else needed. I have experience babysitting autistic children, children with ADHD and other learning disabilities as well. Pay wise I'm flexible too depending on the circumstances.
