I have three summers of experience working as an aid for special needs students, namely autistic, on summer school buses. I worked with students of all ages and personalities, and got to know and understand different ways of talking to them and engaging in activities with them individually and as a group. I really loved hearing all their stories, just listening to what they had to say, and what was important to them. I loved how excited they were to see me on the bus and tell me about their days. That feeling of their excitement is by far the best part.
