I enjoy building meaningful connections with children and supporting their growth in a safe, nurturing environment. Watching kids learn, laugh, and become more confident in themselves is incredibly rewarding. I also find that my natural patience and creativity allow me to create engaging and supportive experiences that help children thrive. My ultimate goal is to become a speech-language pathologist, so every opportunity to work with children helps me grow in that direction. have hands-on experience working with children through the Reading and Evaluation Developmental Skills Lab at Southern Connecticut State University. In Spring 2024, I proctored reading assessments and facilitated the “Buddy Reading System,” where I helped pair older children with younger ones to strengthen literacy through peer learning. I monitored reading fluency and comprehension, offered individualized feedback, and maintained a positive, encouraging environment. This role required me to build trust with children so they felt comfortable reading aloud and Read more expressing themselves, which has helped prepare me for working closely with kids in various settings.
