To begin, my name is Sophie Leung and I am currently 23 years old. I graduated from UConn May 2014 with a Bachelor's in Education (Special Education K-12). I have approximately 10 years of working with children of all different backgrounds, including those in the deaf community. My experience comes from volunteering with the Special Olympics, working as a camp counselor, interning in different classrooms (grades 3-12) and facilities, working as a early childhood teacher, and currently, working at a special needs facility as both an educational instructional assistant and life skills counselor. When working with kids, I make sure to not only provide just supervision, but also to engage with them on their different interests. I often do arts and crafts, science experiments, play games, sports, cooking and a variety of other activities to make our time together fun.
