I graduated from Bowdoin College this past May 2015, and am currently working in Washington DC for Whitman-Walker Health as an AmeriCorps member. At Bowdoin I co-led Bear Buddies, a student organization that matches Bowdoin students with children with physical and mental disabilities and their siblings to engage them with fun, entertaining activities. I've had varying other mentor roles with elementary and middle school aged children, including working with ELL students at a Portland (Maine) middle school, assisting in a 6th grade classroom a Native American reservation community, and working for the Amy Biehl Foundation in South Africa over the 2014 summer (which runs afterschool programs for K-12). I'm fun, relaxed, thoughtful, flexible and confident. Good with animals, especially dogs.
