Dear family, my name is Dragana. I am from Croatia, I lived there with my mother and siblings. I have two sisters and a brother and they are all much younger than me so you could consider this my first experience of "working" with children. My mother who has been working a lot ever since I can remember so I was always a kind of a second mother to my sisters and my brother. I have a lot of experience when it comes to working with children. As I already mentioned before, I have three siblings, all of which are much younger than myself and I have helped a lot in their upbringing. Also, I have worked on the coast as a tourist animator, much of which included working with children in different activities such as mini club. We had the children's workshop. We organized mini olympics with a lot Read more of fun games. One of the things that children liked the most was treasure hunt in which they would compete in teams for a prize. We also had mini disco in which we had a lot of fun dancing with children. Here I've gained experience in organization as well as dealing with a larger group of children, which can be very challenging, but also very rewading. I have also practiced volleyball and have worked as a volleyball coach for children. Here I learned to establish authority and find that balance between being a „dictator“ and a caring authority.I have also worked in a bowling alley in which my duties included organizing children's birthday parties. This experience was not as challenging, but very fun and this was one of those places where you don't even feel like you are working. I also have two years of experience of working as a teaching assistant for a child with special needs. In some classes there are children who need help in their school work and a teaching assistant is a person who sits with the child every day in class and between classes and helps him/her to perform and do what is expected. As a teaching assistant I learned to be very patient and encouraging.This is definitely one of the most rewarding experinces of working with children. I also worked as a babysitter of my friend's daughter Zara. I have been with Zara ever since she was born, when I was needed. With her I did everything that needed to be done, everything from changing diapers when she was a baby and teaching when she grew a little. Now I am in a graduate school and I'm pretty flexible and have a lot of time so would love to find some extra jobs. Feel free to contact me for more information.
