Hi all, TLDR; I am an experienced babysitter/nanny available starting in May of 2023. Please reach out if you are interested in childcare! My contact information can be found at the end of this post and references are provided as requested. I can accommodate up to 40 hours of childcare per week and live in NW DC. A little about me: I am a native Washingtonian, born and raised in Mount Pleasant. In August, I’ll be starting a full-time teaching position with DC Public Schools through Teach For America. This past summer (2022), I nannied/babysat for over twenty families with children age 0-9 and would be happy to ask them for references if necessary. Currently, I work at a preschool local to my college. I speak English and Spanish fluently. Currently, I am in Southern California finishing a BA degree in Psychological Science and a minor in Chicano-Latino Studies from Read more Pomona College. I expect to get back to DC in mid-May and can start immediately. Safety: I am Adult, Child, and Baby First Aid/CPR/AED-Certified by the Red Cross. I have also been background-checked and fingerprinted for my job at a preschool local to my college (and am happy to provide documentation of this). When interacting with children regularly — especially young babies — I try to test myself daily with a rapid COVID test and take PCR tests every couple of weeks (and as requested by families with which I work). I am vaccinated, have never tested positive for the virus, am very careful, and would kindly ask that you disclose to me if anyone in your household has been exposed/diagnosed so I can test myself immediately. My rate is typically $30/hour for infants and $20/hr for children with room for negotiation. Any and all compensation is appreciated. I can accommodate up to 40 hours of childcare per week.
