Hello there, my name is Allison Powell and I'm 30 years old. I was born and raised near Richmond, Virginia. I've loved working with children since I was 13 years old and would babysit for close family and friends whenever they needed me to. Eventually I began working at a licensed Child Development Center as an Assistant Teacher for 3.5 years and fell in love with it! I was primarily a "floater," which means I've had experience with every age group; although many times I found myself with the two year old group. Our main responsibility as assistant teachers were to keep the children happy, healthy, and safe at all times! After that I applied to become a nanny for a family and I fell in love with the position! I cared for two children: a two year old and a six month old. I washed the families clothes, kept Read more the house clean, washed their dishes, prepared breakfast and lunch, and even went on day trips with the family! This fun did not last forever though, eventually the military required my husband and I move to our next duty station - Hawaii! We were there for nearly four years and while there, I decided to take a break from childcare. I thought, since we were living in paradise I would simply have fun. I was offered a job as a sales associate at Dole Plantation and later promoted to an administrative assistant. I worked here until we left in mid-2021. We then moved to Florida with the intent of finally settling down. After nearly a decade of honorable service, my husband has decided to exit the service in pursuit of his Bachelors and attending school full-time. We had our first child, a beautiful baby girl in November and am searching for a family who would be comfortable with me bringing her. I am also open to having your children come to our home. Which ever you prefer, I am open to discussion! I am searching for a full time position between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and am able to start immediately.
