Hi everyone! My name is Alejandra McKay and I am looking for new babysitting jobs. I have 3 years of professional childcare experience: 1 year at a preschool in Boca and 2 years at a preschool in Illinois. I am working on obtaining an early child care license and am CPR and First Aid certified. As I work at a preschool I have passed a background check and am regularly required to complete 40 hours of DCFS training per year. (I have complete my training for this year). I primarily work with 1-3 years old but am comfortable with elementary school children and infants as well. I have been babysitting since I was 12 and have 10 years experience of babysitting. My approach to children is holistic. I believe that a lot of behavior can be addressed through understanding how children communicate their personal needs. I have experience potty training and working with children on their literary skills. I strongly believe in helping children develop skills for elementary school while also letting kids be kids. Personally, I love creating crafts and hands-on activities for kids and discourage the use of screen time. As a babysitter I am available in the evenings after 5 through the end of May and month of June. I am currently in school at FAU studying for my bachelors in English and work as an academic tutor for the athletic department as a small side job. My rate for babysitting begins at $25 an hour with each extra child typically adding on to about $2-$3.
