Well I actually became a full time care giver at the age of 18, when I had my first child (Alana Gregg), and though I was well aware of how to take care of a baby I wasn't prepared for the circumstances that she was born into...... My water broke when I was 5 months pregnant with her, I was a long way from home, and the right hospital. Thankfully I was given immediate attention and airlifted to "The baby place" where I gave birth to my 1 lb. 9 oz. baby. She was intibated and hospitalized for 4 months. While this was one of the hardest moments in my life, it was an eye opening experience. She was born with a few complications ( most of them were short term) :bleeding on the brain, left Perry ventricular syst, she had underdeveloped lungs, and she also had bradycardia witch caused Read more her heart and breathing to stop. During the period of her hospitalization she was given more than 10 blood transfusions and lots of tests. I was given CPR lessons for baby's, and taught how to perform the Heimlich maneuver. She was released on an apnea monitor and given caffeine to keep her heart rate up. I'm greatful for her and my other two children who were also born prematurely just without as many difficulties. Miley and Ethan weighed in at 2lbs. 12oz. and 3lbs. 6oz. They are the bigesst blessing and the greatest joy in my life. I believe all children are the greatest gift from God and the heaviest responsibility anyone can have. I understand children very well and I have patience that never wear's. I am also an amazing cook and I know tons of activities and games that kids love. All of my children are very well behaved and respectful,I respect them as well. All children are different but should be treated equally.
