I just moved here from Maryland where I taught Language Arts to grades 3 & 4 for 6 years in inner city Baltimore. I am a Maryland Board Certified teacher. I had very challenging students at my school, but loved the relationships I formed with them. I really enjoyed helping them learn and overcome some difficult obstacles to become well rounded children who were on a path to succeed. In May, I finished my Master's program at Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Education. My passion is children and education and I have worked most of my life to become great at working with both. In Maryland, I worked for a family for 11 years caring for their children after school from the time they were newborns until they were 11. I would drive them to camp, school, or the pool, and help with their homework. The family is Read more still like a second family to me. The oldest is now in High School and he texts me frequently for advice on life. I also dog sat very often for many of the families in my neighborhood. I recently got a puppy of my own and I love him more than anything. I know the kind of care I would expect someone to give my dog while watching him so I want to be a person who gives that quality time and care to your pet.
