With two younger sisters and cousins that lived nearby, I babysat as a pre-teen. By 14, I was babysitting for the neighbors. I began working full-time as a camp counselor (at the age of 16) at B'nai Aviv (a synagogue in Weston). I have had cats, dogs, and birds as pets. I have always loved children and pets. I graduated from FGCU with my BA in Psychology and spent a year working at a Transitional Living Center (SalusCare) where I got certified in CPR, First Aid and behavior management. Here I worked with a team who oversaw a facility with 60+ patients with some rough conditions (mental health and substance abuse). I was responsible for maintaining patient, coworker and campus safety. Besides monitoring the campus like a hawk, I managed medications, took in-depth notes of patient behavior (and offered suggestions to social workers), and maintained a friendly/safe environment for everyone.
