Growing up as the oldest of 9 siblings, I've been in a care taking position ever since I can remember! I have nannied for a family that had a toddler and an infant during my summers in college - this was an all day position, several times a week, and also included meal prep and light housekeeping. After college, I also worked full time with children in a childcare treatment facility for at risk youth where I was CPR/first aid trained, and epipen trained. I have tutoring experience ranging from preschool to the collegiate level (experience with English, Writing, and Mathematics). I believe children have an innate sense of wonder, creativity, and love of learning that when carefully developed can lead to a prosperous and colorful adulthood. This belief influenced my decision to obtain my BA in Studio Art, as well as minor in social work. When I watch your Read more child, they WILL NOT be in front of the computer, iPad, or TV the whole time. I am fine with educational programs, but for the majority of the time (and depending on their age) I will be reading with them, playing outside, doing crafts, playing games inside, etc. In my free time, I enjoy music (I play several different instruments) and absolutely love being outside, whether it be reading in the grass, coloring with chalk on the driveway, or exploring a new park!
