Jade’s Bio I am a current veterinary student at UF, and have 8 years experience caring for both animals and children. Before entering the veterinary field, I originally thought I wanted to be a teacher, so I held many positions involving child care as well. I received my RedCross Certification for Babysitting, First Aid and CPR at 15, and began babysitting. Shortly after, I began working as a tour guide on an educational form, where I taught summer camps and school groups about animals. In this position I managed and safely watch the interaction between large farm animals and groups of up to 30 children. After two years of this, I moved on to holding a full-time camp counselor position for a summer camp for special needs children. Thus, I have experience working with all variety of children in various circumstances. Moving into my college work, I continued work within Read more the veterinary field with occasional babysitting. I also re-upped my CPR and Basic-Life Support/Emergency Oxygen Provider certifications in November of 2019. As for any pet care needs, prior to veterinary school I worked as a veterinary technician for ~2 years, where I honed my animal handling and medication skills. I am comfortable with any size or green dog or cat, as well as small pocket pets (hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits etc). With my past experiences, I am confident and happy to work with any children and/or pet needs you may have!
