I'm a 41 year old mom with an empty nest. I left the service of the USAF to be a homemaker and raise my son. During that time I was sitter to two children for extended periods of time. One birth to 2yrs, the other 9months to 2yrs. I have experience caring for many other children in the capacity of sitting as well as both family member and sitter to friends sporadically. I then went back to college with an eye towards teaching as my son grew older, adding additional child development classes to my credits with my electives, and in that capacity spent many hours of service training in classrooms with children as well. Ultimately I decided that the large formal classroom was not the place for me however, so I stopped attending UCF less than a year shy of graduating. I'm married, 16 years, to a LCSO deputy, and while I don't have current CPR certification I would be willing to get it done. I have been through the class multiple times and my husband keeps me updated on the current changes to CPR best practices. We have dogs who now stand in as our 'kids' at home, so pets are never an issue! Also, due to my husband's schedule I can tend to be a night owl, awake until the wee hours, unless I plan ahead. Late hours aren't a problem, my schedule is very flexible. Reading, time outside playing or investigating nature, and arts and crafts are some of my personal favorite ways to spend the day... by myself or with kids.
