Hello, as you've probably seen my name is Tyra. I'm currently a college student majoring in chemistry, and ultimately I would like to become a pediatric surgeon. I've always had a love for children and helping them find enjoyment in everyday experiences. My love for children started in my mother's daycare Leapfrog Learning Center; there I use to assist her with the younger children. Teaching them the basics like numbers, letters, colors, and shapes that's been over 8 years ago. Since then I've volunteered with children at Nemours Children's hospital and MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation. At Nemours my job was to help make a child's time there a little more pleasant, this included singing songs, coloring pictures, doing arts & crafts and so much more. At MaliVai Washington I was assigned a troubled/less fortunate student to mentor and 3-4 times a week we would meet. During this time we would Read more complete the students homework, play educational games, hang-out and have fun, Ultimately helping the child temporarily forget about the troubled times elsewhere. As you can see all the jobs I've had with children weren't done for the money, they were done simply out of my love for them. Not only do I love children, I'm also first aid and CPR certified. Honestly, that's what make me think I would be an excellent caregiver for your child.
