Hello! My name is Micayla and I’m 24 years old. I have been babysitting on and off since high school for children of all different ages. I have been CPR/First Aid certified for years, but can retake the course if those credentials happen to be expired. I went to Jacksonville University for almost 3 years where I studied nursing. Due to a serious car accident, I was not able to finish my semester and haven’t gone back yet to finish my l degree. During that time I completed pediatric/labor & delivery clinical rotations in the hospital. I learned a lot of awesome things about child development and infant safety and so many other things that I’ve been able to apply to my job as a nanny. My minor was in psychology and with that I had a year long internship at the North Florida School of Special Needs. I was Read more in the after care program and looked after kids ranging from toddlers to 20 year olds, all with different disabilities and levels of independence. Since stopping school, I have been working mostly part time as a nanny. I primarily have taken care of infants and toddlers as that is my favorite age group! Most recently I took care of a little baby girl 3 days a week from the ages of 3 months old to 9 months old, and I loved it! Before moving back to New Jersey, my full time job was also working at a 90 Day Treatment Center. Amongst other things, I was responsible for passing medication and monitoring behavior and progress. Though that was with adults, it was a great set of skills to learn that I can also apply to children! I am really looking forward to getting to know the next family I will be working with :)
