I have always loved children and looked after them, starting with my two younger siblings when I was a child. I babysat as a teen. I was a day camp counselor one summer, responsible for a large group of 2nd grade girls. I raised three stepchildren and my own baby, who is about to turn 29! I moved to Colorado a year ago to be near her. I also helped to raise my godson from birth to age 5. He is now almost 8 and another light in my life. I spend part of my time in Cottonwood, Arizona. I graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in English. After college, I owned and managed a health food store in Lakeland, Florida for eight years. During that time, I became a licensed massage therapist and bodyworker. I have had my own practice for the past 20+ years. Before the pandemic, I spent two years teaching high school English and also worked in the elementary after school program. I am good with children of all ages. I am organized, responsible, dependable. I am one of those people who is almost always early because I don't ever want to be late. You can count on me for punctuality and consideration. More importantly, you can count on me to take good care of your children. I am patient, kind and loving. I have a great sense of humor. I believe that play is really important. I enjoy playing - whether it is creative activities, board games, or sports. I like teaching kids new skills and helping them to develop confidence. I have coached soccer, basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, and tennis. I lived in Spain for a year during college, so I am semi-fluent (it's been a long time!). I'm a good cook. I know how hard it can be to trust someone else to take care of your children. I cried like a baby the first time my daughter went on a school field trip and I couldn't be one of the parents chaperoning. I think if you meet me, you'll know your children will be safe and in great hands. I'm totally okay if you want to have a nanny-cam going to see what they are doing all day - or if you want to check in regularly. My schedule is very flexible - and my availability is negotiable.
