My name is Makyla Burks, I also go by Kyla, and my background is in Psychology and Women and Gender Studies. I graduated from high school with my International Baccalaureate diploma, and was awarded Florida's highest Bright Futures scholarship. I attended the University of South Florida through my junior year before being impacted by the COVID pandemic, which is when I transferred to the University of Central Florida online. As an employee I bring warmth and professionalism into any workspace, and I have a great reputation with previous employers. Working with youth in an educational setting and exploring artistic passions has been fulfilling, but in the future I would love to work with underserved communities such as the homeless, domestic violence survivors, and at risk youth.
