My mother used to own a daycare (2007-2015) and although I wasn't on payroll due to my age, I did help with taking care of the children (6 months-12 years). I would help with putting the children to sleep during nap time, reading to them, helping them use the bathroom/change their diapers, help with feeding and cleaning up after them, picking up the older children from school (across the street), engage in academic play as well as recess type play, teaching them proper manners, helping with preparing the food and drinks, and sing songs with them that relates to the activity that we were doing (clean up, nursery rhymes, etc.).
