I was a summer camp counselor for 5 years and each year we received orientation on ways to engage the kids, discipline them in a safe way, and work with kids who have disabilities or developmental delays like autism. Eventually, I was in charge of an entire group of 8-15 kids depending on the day, ages ranging from 8-12, although I had to help care for the younger kids at camp as well. Between those summers and the babysitting I've done since then, as well as helping with my little sister, who is six years my junior, I feel qualified and passionate about making sure kids have a positive loving environment and good supervision when needed.
