Hello! My name is Shaina and I just recently moved from Syracuse, NY to Miami, FL. I am originally from Boston, MA, and in the spring of 2019, I graduated from the University of Massachusetts Lowell with a Bachelor's in Exercise Physiology. I just recently began an Occupational Therapy Master's program at Barry University, so I will be in the southern Florida area for a few years! I enjoy spending time with my dog, listening to music, attending concerts, & spending time with friends. I am extremely friendly, love working with children, & find myself to be very punctual & responsible. I began babysitting twin boys at the age of 12. At this time, they were 7 years old, & I stayed with the family until they were 11. We played outside, did homework, arts & crafts, baked, & played video games. In the winter, we often went sledding, & Read more to the local boat club to swim in the summer. Next, I took care of three children for two consecutive summers. The children, two girls & a boy, were 2, 8, & 10 years old when I began. I watched them at the beach & at their home, both throughout the day & at night. We took part in arts & crafts, played outside, watched movies, I helped them with summer reading & math packets. My next job was nannying a set of twins. I was hired by this family when I was a senior in high school, & took care of them from 2014-2017. I took them to the beach, zoo, aquarium, museum, park, and other fun places! The children attend a summer learning program (Kumon) so I often took them to these classes, as well as helped them with their work. Playing tag, hide-and-seek, & arts & crafts were some of their favorite activities, so we took part in these quite frequently. I would make them breakfast, lunch, & dinner depending on the times I was there, & loved letting the kids help me when possible. My most recent nanny position was summer 2019, where I cared for 3 children, ages 8, 6, & 3. We would go to the lake, play out on the swings, go for bike rides, & have quiet time, where I would read them books or help with their summer school work. Sometimes we would go on adventures to the wild park or the library, giving the children ample time outside of the house and away from screens! I thoroughly enjoy working with children, and cannot wait to see where my next adventure lies.
