Hello! My name is Naomi. I'm twenty-two years old and currently attending Boston University as a Communications student. I have extensive experience in childcare, primarily from recreation programs, youth athletics, and babysitting. From 2014 to the summer of 2019, I worked for the City of Sunny Isles Beach as a Recreation Leader/Sports Coach. I coached soccer, volleyball, and cheerleading and worked for the city's various aftercare and seasonal camp programs. I have also worked and volunteered for several other summer camp and after-school programs since 2011, including my position at Camp Androscoggin, a sleepaway camp in Maine. I worked as a Soccer Coach and a Bunk Supervisor during my time there. I was responsible for taking care of the campers in the eight-year-old bunk. In addition, from 2019 to 2021, I worked as an after-school teacher with elementary school children at the Extended Day Program at Coolidge Corner School (now Read more Ruffin Ridley School). I'm passionate about helping children grow into capable individuals. As a caregiver, I take a holistic approach to teaching children and helping them experience life. I believe that children should have a wide range of exposure to the arts, music, literature, media, sports and physical activity, nature and outdoor activities, and academics. With my experience as a coach and caretaker, I'm proficient in planning and leading activities, monitoring a child's behavior and progress while also checking in and communicating effectively with them and their parents. Naomi is a kid magnet! My two children loved her from the moment she walked in the door. She was punctual, kind, helpful, professional and best of all, fun. What I appreciated about Naomi was the thoughtful language that she used with my children - she encouraged them to be responsible and respectful without talking down to them. She was also proactive about finding things for them to do and a natural at mediating sibling squabbles with kind words and empathy.
