For the past year I have been working as an After School Counselor looking after a group of thirty, third graders within the age group of 8-9 . I work Monday-Friday. My role as a counselor consists of supervising the children during activities. I help them with their homework, make sure they have fun by taking them outdoors to play games and sports, prepping their snacks, and give parents a brief verbal report at the time of pick up. Outside of my daily job I am also a on call babysitter for a newborn, he’s been under my care ever since he turned three months. I chose these jobs because I would like to gain experience in taking care of children to prepare myself for when I become a teacher.
