Meet Samantha

I always new that I was someone who likes to provide care for others. I'm always thinking of ways to help those around me before helping myself. I've been a caregiver my whole life, whether it be for children or elderly people. In high school, I cared for infant twins. Four years ago, I cared for two young sisters elementary aged. Recently I was taking care of a high school student who needed transportation for her sports seasons. I also, for the last almost four years, was working in an assisted living facility. I left my job there for my own personal reasons but I appreciated every moment I had there. I learned how to become patien't and nurching. I loved being able to provide and care for someone who could no longer do for themselves. I held a few positions over the years at this facility. I started as Read more a resident care associate where I provided one on one care for 30 residents. I was cpr and first aid certified at the time, but since then, my certification has expired. I am still very comfortable with providing first aid necessities and I trust my own medical judgements. I've seen and dealt with many different types of people and situations. I also worked in dining services as a server and cook. Cooking is a huge passion of mine and I love to get everyone involved when I'm in the kitchen. I have my associates degree on arts, I am currently one class shy of my elem Edu degree. I would love to go back to school to finish, whether it be for teaching or for culinary, I haven't really decided yet. But if I do go back to school I would make sure I worked my schedule around your families needs. I like to explore new places and try new things. I love being outside. Playing games. Swimming. I am not a certified swim teacher, but I've taught many children how to swim. I also enjoy singing. I do have my own car and a clean driving record. Car saftey is a big one for me having lost too many friends in high school due to careless acts behind the wheel. I am very comfortable with pets. I do not smoke. I do not like jumping around from job to job, I would like to find a family that I can work and grow with, I think it's important for the children to have a stable environment and to be able to establish a relationship with their caregiver. I'm just looking for an opportunity to get back into child care because that is where my heart is.
