I am a 43 year old mother of 2 boys ages 5 & 9. I have always been a “child magnet”, they naturally gravitate towards me. I have over 30 years experience with children, babysitting since I was 11. I worked at the YMCA Naples for a few years in the afterschool program & summer camp when I was 19. At 21, I was a full time nanny for 2 boys ages 4 & 6. I have worked in social services for the past 18 years and have only changed employers once in that time frame for a more mother friendly work schedule. My proudest moment was being selected as Child Advocate of the year in 2004. In 2009 I completed the Department of Children & Families Introductory to Childcare course to be promoted to Children’s Services Manager, supervising on site childcare and youth development activities at a domestic violence Read more shelter. My current position is working with elders for Collier County Government. Pre-requisite was passing a Level 2 background check. Last year I became a single mom , and I have a good co-parenting relationship with my boys father. My children are with their dad 40% of the time (including every other weekend) so I am looking to fill some of my “free” time. And of course adding to my income to help pay for extra curricular activities for my boys- summer camp and sports equipment are expensive- lol! I would love to find a few families to occasionally babysit for evenings or weekend hours. Coming from a failed relationship- I realize now how important date night is. For that reason, I am also open to eventual overnight babysitting once children are acclimated and trust is established. I love children of all ages , including infants. You will have peace of mind knowing I will not be on my phone and your children will have my full attention. I am very patient and believe that children should be allowed to be silly & messy at times. I love to read to children, play games, do arts & crafts and at this point consider myself a master Lego builder. For daytime babysitting, I will ensure that your children get enough outdoor playtime. I am also open to taking your children to the park, splash pad, museum, zoo, library, sports or special events. I will respect and enforce any guidelines and routines parents have established in the home. In addition to babysitting, I am also open to elder care, pet sitting, housekeeping and running errands for you.
