I have always enjoyed working with children and young adults. I first got started working as a camp counselor at a horseback riding camp that I used to attend and take lessons at. I enjoyed getting to teach them how to safely interact with and take care of horses. It always made me happy to see how far they progressed in just a short amount of time. I have also been a volunteer assistant camp counselor at College for Kids. It was such a rewarding experience. I was able to work with such amazing children. It was so much fun to be able to show them how to do and make new things. I also was a volunteer tutor for three refugee children and young adults from Burma. I got to show them parts of the American culture and its’ traditions. We would do arts and crafts for some of Read more the holidays. We even made Halloween Costumes and went Trick O’ Treating. I also helped them with their English and math skills. I also got to learn about some of their traditions and values in their culture. It is something that I will never forget. I have also babysat on occasion for my cousin’s two and five year old. I am trained in First Aid and CPR.
