Hello! My name is Kira McMahon, I am a 28 year, old teacher, educator, tutor, nanny, caregiver, and an enthusiastic leader. I have experience tutoring, beginning in 2013 through present day, teaching a variety of subjects including reading, writing, social studies, math, science, as well as college courses, including general curriculum, required classes and early childhood education classes. I have experience tutoring students from pre-kindergarten all the way through high school and into college. I earned my bachelors degree from SUNY Potsdam, studying early childhood education. I earned my masters degree from the same university, earning a professional degree in curriculum and instruction. Throughout my 5 1/2 years of higher education, I worked as a local substitute teacher for several school districts, teaching all grade levels, all ranges of academic capabilities from teaching, gifted to teaching intervention. I also have experience teaching specials, such as physical education, health, art, computer, Read more science, etc. I have experience as a lead teacher for pre-kindergarten, first grade, and fourth grade. I have experience teaching as well as nannying and tutoring in multiple different states. I have experience teaching remotely as well as simultaneously as I was thrown right into the chaos, teaching first grade in upstate New York during March 2020. Takeaways I want you to know: I am passionate and motivated to help guide our younger generations to be able to think for themselves, and grow into strong individuals, I am very invested in self growth and taking care of my body by being active, I have an adorable, two year old, golden retriever dog, who is bilingual, and I have a very welcoming, loving, and understanding presence about me. Also, I have some basic knowledge of the Spanish language.
