Dear Family, My name is Lisa and I am interested in your nanny position . My experiences range from teaching preschool to being a full-time live-in nanny and everything in between. I currently reside in Parkland and I have an excellent driving record! I have been a live-in nanny for a majority of my career. My last position was with an infant in Massachusetts. However, in 2017, I worked for a family based in Washington, DC. I was nanny for a 2 year-old child. I planned her day while keeping in mind the objectives and goals I set for her based upon her age and comprehension level. We practiced a lot with syllables, rhymes, beginning letters, gross and fine motor, music/movement and art. I especially enjoyed taking her to the library and age-appropriate classes because they were opportunities for social interaction. I also worked for a High-Profile family located in Read more Lexington, MA. I worked alongside a team consisting of other nannies, chauffeurs and cleaning crews. I have a ‘pitch-in where needed’ attitude and I love the variety of performing various household tasks when the kids were at school. In addition, I taught preschool for Head Start for 3 years. I taught children ages 3-5, met with parents, planned out lesson plans and scheduled educational field trips. When I taught preschool, I learned how to nurture children in the areas of social/emotional, cognitive, gross and fine motor and both receptive and expressive language. My philosophies on education range from hands-on learning/learning through guided play, redirecting as a means of discipline and creating a reward system for positive behavior. My education extends to a Bachelor’s in Elementary and Special Education and 21 credits in Early Childhood Education. I love to teach children and see that spark in their eyes when they understand something they discovered on their own. I believe in hands-on exploring and exposing children to a wide variety of activities. I have many great ideas and techniques. I hope that I am considered for this position.
