I started out as a young child in foster care, my mother then adopted me once Inwas the age of two, but that didn't stop the foster children from coming. I would watch as these children would come into our home, unbathed, battered, abused, unfed, simply not cared for. I grew up understanding how reminiscing the world can be to children who are lost in the mental battles of adults. Which is why, I made it my duty to assist my mother in making a difference with every child that stepped foot in our door. From the early age of 7, I was at the front lines with my mother, who spent her years drowning in social work - simply trying to make a difference. I mention this because I've seen first hand what a little love, care and attention can do to brighten someone day. I didnt make a Read more career out of childcare or housekeeping, but I make sure to always offer a hand when someone is in need. My past work experiences have been customer service based, but from the childcare at home to the volunteering at my mother's various State jobs, I absorbed as much information as possible. I learned to cook and clean on my own while watching after 2-7 kids at a time all while completeing my homework for my next school day. I learned how to then lead these children into replicating these important life skills by simply talking to them. Explaining to them that life isn't fair and that it can be extremely cruel, but you can always make the best of a situation. Utilizing resources around me, adapting to my surroundings, offering to hold kids at any social event just because I know what a tired mind can expound. I am looking for a family, a home, to simply care for and to love. I am looking for something to feel passionate about. Customer service is great, but when you feel like you're making an impact on the community - that feels better. I have a servsafe food management certificate, I have an active background check open with the DCF, I have countless years of childcare at home and volunteer experience with THAP, DCF, FEC, and AEC.
