Hey there I'm Kelli. I'll start with the basics. I'm great with children, I'm an Animal Lover and have a reliable car. A 2018 Nissan Rogue with 32,000 miles. I have experience as a live-in Nanny to my 3 Nephews and taking care of friends children. I was a Sustitute Teacher at a Charter School grades K-8th for 2 years. I took care of my 3 nephews for a year when they were 1 1/2 - 4 years old. Two have graduated from Ivy League colleges and the Baby is a Junior at Howard Universty. We call ourselves the 4 Musketeers. They call me Auntie Glam. We continue to have the close bond we formed long ago. I also have had lots of exposure and experience with children although I have none of my own. I love animals and they love me back. They sense I'm not afraid and that Read more I like them. I grew up with dogs and cats. I even had my own horse. I have a BEAUTIFUL cat named Sushi but I love dogs as well. I'm 61 years young, retired and like to keep busy. A little extra money doesn't hurt either. I dont look or act my age. I'm a big kid myself. I love to play, swim, coloring, arts & crafts, reading, etc... I am not your typical babysitter. I believe in educating children at home to prepare them for the real world depending on their age and parental consent. Don't just depend on school where they just teach. That's where they get their academics. Home, extended family, etc... should all help with the everyday real life stuff. "It takes a Village to raise a child " will never be obsolete or out of style. My Mom used flash cards and taught me to read before I entered Kindergarten. Not "See Spot Run". i was reading regular books to my classmates. I feel we've gotten away from that with Technology and busier lives. We need to get back to some of the basics. I'm sure some of you share my thoughts. I say, Love your kids to death. Do everything you can for them. Aim to give them more opportunities than you had. But also teach them life is NOT FAIR!!! If you've ever had the oppotunity to listen to Matthew McConaughey give a Commencement speech he said "Life is not fair. It wasn't fair yesterday. Its not fair today and it won't be fair tomorrow". This is such a true statement. Teach this to your kids early in life. I also run errands, facilitate sleep overs and birthday parties, coming up with fun themes. I pepare lite mealls, do light cleaning, gardening and Mothers Helper. I guess you could say: "I do a little bit of this and a little bit of that!" Regards Auntie Glam
